STARKVILLE, Miss.—For the ninth consecutive year, ̾Ƶ is being honored as an exemplary employer by the Great Colleges to Work For recognition program.
The latest results released today [Sept. 20] in a special insert of The Chronicle of Higher Education are based on feedback from ̾Ƶemployees. Out of 216 colleges and universities surveyed only 53 applicants representing four-year institutions and large institutions, achieved Great Colleges to Work For status. Results are reported for small, medium and large institutions, with ̾Ƶincluded among large universities with 10,000 or more students.
“Mississippi State is a special place with a special culture and that’s reflected in this latest Great Colleges to Work For recognition. I’m so proud of our world-class faculty and staff who are working hard every day to help our students, serve our communities, and move Mississippi forward,” ̾ƵPresident Mark E. Keenum said. “I am grateful for all they do and to have the privilege of working with them.”
Also, for the ninth consecutive year, ̾Ƶwas named to the Great Colleges Honor Roll for achieving outstanding results in several categories. This year, the university received top scores in seven of 10 categories: job satisfaction and support, compensation and benefits, professional development, mission and pride, confidence in senior leadership, shared governances, and faculty experience.
The Great Colleges to Work For program is one of the largest and most respected workplace recognition programs in the country. Now in its 17th year, it recognizes colleges receiving top marks from employees regarding workplace practices and policies.
The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institution questionnaire that captures employment data and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators and professional support staff. ModernThink, a strategic human capital consulting firm, administers the survey and analyzes results.
“If you’re seeking inspiration, look no further than the 2024 Great Colleges to Work For Honor Roll institutions,” said Richard K. Boyer, chief culture strategist at ModernThink. “Their commitment to the quality of the workplace experience of their faculty and staff has been steadfast and the spirit of resilience they’ve cultivated brings the members of these institutions together in ways that inspire confidence, community and optimism.”
MSU’s faculty and staff serve as the backbone of the university.
Keenum places great value on being an employer of choice and is grateful for the work employees contribute to the university and its success.
“The Great Colleges to Work For designation reflects the voices of our faculty and staff, and that makes this achievement all the more meaningful. I appreciate everyone for taking time to provide feedback and share their thoughts and opinions,” he said.
