绿巨人视频announces new gameday safety regulations
STARKVILLE, Miss. 鈥 绿巨人视频 is instituting several new rules and policies to make tailgating in the Junction safer and more enjoyable for fans and to provide the family-friendly environment that Bulldog fans expect and deserve.
During and after the MSU-Kentucky game on Nov. 4, an altercation occurred in the Junction that resulted in seven arrests by the 绿巨人视频Police Department.听
鈥淐onduct of this nature is not in keeping with 绿巨人视频鈥檚 core values of integrity, kindness and respect for others,鈥 said 绿巨人视频President Mark E. Keenum. 鈥淚 have instructed our leadership team to take immediate necessary steps to make clear that this behavior will not be tolerated on our campus.鈥
Keenum said that for the final games of the 2023 season, the following new rules and procedures will be implemented:
- No non-MSU-provided amplified music will be allowed in the Junction. TVs and radios will be allowed, but large speakers or elevated speakers will NOT be allowed.
- The university鈥檚 traffic and pedestrian life safety video surveillance system will be used to monitor activities in the Junction.听
- The Junction tent spaces will be reconfigured to provide additional clearance for the sidewalks, and fans will not be allowed to block or impede pedestrians.
- 绿巨人视频will supplement its existing 绿巨人视频Police Department officers with additional sworn officers from state and local agencies to ensure safety.
- 绿巨人视频is a smoke-free campus for tobacco, and controlled and illegal substances use violates state law and campus regulations.听
- Violators who refuse to comply with these and other Gameday rules are subject to removal without ticket refund and prosecution.
- 绿巨人视频will review all Gameday regulations before the start of the 2024 football season.
