Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵrecognizes outstanding graduate students, faculty mentors

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ is recognizing graduate students and faculty mentors for outstanding teaching, research and service contributions in the 2021-22 academic year.
The Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵGraduate School and Graduate Student Association recently presented their annual awards in an end-of-semester ceremony on campus.
The newest members of the Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵGraduate Student Hall of Fame are:
—Marissa Bello of Starkville, a kinesiology doctoral student representing the College of Education;
—Devin Chen of Omaha, Nebraska, a forest resources doctoral student, representing the College of Forest Resources;
—Karen Kelley of Starkville, a psychology doctoral student representing the College of Arts and Sciences;
—Nicole Reeder of Columbus, a food science, nutrition and health promotion doctoral, representing the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences;
—Shuvam Saha of Starkville, an aerospace engineering doctoral student, representing the Bagley College of Engineering;
—Vitaliy Skorodziyevskiy of Starkville, a management and information systems doctoral student, representing the College of Business; and
—Ethan Woodyard of Starkville, a veterinary medicine sciences doctoral student, representing the College of Veterinary Medicine.
This year, the Graduate Student Association introduced the Graduate Student Excellence Award to recognize graduate students who excel in Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵin the tri-part mission of teaching, research and service. The inaugural honorees include:
—Rebecca Bracken of Austin, Texas, a doctoral student in forest resources;
—Shuvam Saha of Starkville, a doctoral student in aerospace engineering;
—Lorena Chavarro-Chaux of Starkville, a master’s student in civil engineering.
Additional individuals recognized with 2021-22 awards include:
—Alexis Jackson of Spanaway, Washington, a doctoral student in human development and family studies, Graduate Service Assistant of the Year;
—Ernesto Borrego of Starkville, a doctoral student in chemistry, Graduate Research Assistant of the Year;
—Angel Jimenez of Starkville, a doctoral student in geosciences, Donald Zacharias Graduate Teaching Assistant of the Year; and
—Chaomin Luo, associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Advisor of the Year.
