绿巨人视频Graduate School announces Image of Research Competition winners

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擳wo master鈥檚 students and one doctoral student are winners of the 绿巨人视频 Graduate School鈥檚 Image of Research Competition.

The聽event is a chance for students to creatively engage with their聽research by sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses into their聽processes or portraying their academic studies in visual form. Participants are asked to submit an image and provide a title聽of聽less than 10 words, along with a 100 to 150-word narrative articulating the connection between the image聽and their聽research.

鈥淲e appreciate our graduate students for making this a successful event with a lot of engagement and interesting submissions,鈥 said Lilli Harris, program coordinator for MSU鈥檚 Graduate School.

Judges selected 15 submitted images for a two-week exhibition recently held at the Colvard Student Union Art Gallery. From those, judges chose first and second place winners and a People鈥檚 Choice Award recipient.

Winners include:

First Place鈥擪risty M. McAndrew of Starkville, agricultural life sciences/entomology master鈥檚 student, Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Entomology and Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, for 鈥淎 picture鈥檚 worth 16,659 bugs鈥

Second Place鈥擩essica N. Leesburg of Starkville, geosciences/environmental geosciences master鈥檚 student, Department of Geosciences, College of Arts and Sciences, for 鈥淎 Photographic Journey through the Beauty that is Sweeting鈥檚 Pond鈥

People鈥檚 Choice鈥擩annatul Ferdush of Starkville, earth and atmospheric sciences doctoral student, Department of Geosciences, College of Arts and Sciences, for 鈥淗ypothetical consequences of elevated CO鈧 under different factors in soil鈥
