STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擳hree Mississippi State employees are being honored for outstanding achievements by the United Way of North Central Mississippi.
All university alumni, they include Leslie M. Corey and David W. and Michelle L. Garraway, all of Starkville.
During ceremonies Wednesday [Sept. 14] launching the organization鈥檚 2016 fund-raising campaign:
鈥擟orey was announced as this year鈥檚 selection for the prestigious Honor Award recognizing her 鈥渆xtreme loyalty and dedication鈥 to United Way鈥檚 mission. For more than a decade, she has directed successful campus campaigns.
鈥擳he Garraways received Making A Difference accolades for 鈥済oing beyond expectations鈥 in promoting the annual campaign through social and other media.
Corey is senior human resources generalist in MSU鈥檚 human resources management department. In addition to a 1981 degree in what now is human sciences, she received a 2001 master鈥檚 degree in public policy and administration.
David Garraway has directed the University Television Center since 2014. Prior to receiving a 2015 MBA degree at the land-grant institution, he earned bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi in, respectively, radio, television and film and mass communication.
Michelle Garraway is program coordinator for the Center for the Advancement of Service-Learning Excellence. She is a 2003 cum laude graduate in foreign language education now pursuing a master鈥檚 degree in workforce education leadership.
With offices in Starkville, United Way of North Central Mississippi serves community organizations in Choctaw, Oktibbeha, Webster and Winston counties.
