STARKVILLE, Miss.—Theatre ̾Ƶcontinues its 52nd season Wednesday-Saturday [Feb. 24-27] at 7:30 p.m. with “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised]” on the university’s McComas Hall mainstage.

The riotous comedy parodying all 37 of the English poet, playwright and actor’s (1564-1616) plays was written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield of the touring acting troupe, the Reduced Shakespeare Company.

“The ‘Complete Works’ is all over the map in the parodies—from turning the history plays into a football game to turning a dark and brooding tragedy into a cooking show,” said director and ̾Ƶassistant professor and theatre coordinator Cody Stockstill. “With something for everyone, this production is sure to be a fun ride.”

Featuring all of the characters but only three actors, the ̾Ƶproduction is being held in celebration of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. Often referred to as England’s national poet, he is widely considered the greatest dramatist of all time.

General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children age 10 and under. Tickets may be purchased at the door prior to the performance or in advance at .

The department also will present “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “OKLAHOMA!” at McComas Hall this season. Free to all, the show will be performed April 21-23 at 7:30 p.m. and April 24 at 2 p.m.
