Reception honoring Sebba for Steinway Artist designation

President Mark E. Keenum and First Lady Rhonda Newman Keenum are honoring Mississippi State music professor Rosângela Y. “Rose” Sebba with a celebration of her Steinway Artist designation on Tuesday [Sept. 15]. The reception begins at 6 p.m. at The Mill at ̾Ƶon Russell Street in Starkville.

With more than 36 years of experience in piano performance, Sebba is among the select ranks of some 1,600 highly esteemed musicians from around the world who have chosen to play exclusively on pianos produced by internationally renowned piano manufacturer Steinway & Sons. Remarks will be made by President Keenum; Richard Blackbourn, dean of education; Barry E. Kopetz, professor and music department head; Robert Klingbeil, director of institutional sales at Amro Music Stores Inc. in Memphis, Tennessee; Glen Gough, corporate sales manager for Steinway & Sons; and Sebba.

In addition to Sebba, the program will include performances by Jackie Edwards-Henry, Gabrielle Tran, Candace Moreau, Sarah Jenkins, Tyler Stallings, Jeanette Fontaine, Karen Murphy, Trent Smith, Anthony Kirkland and Sheri Falcone.

All are welcome to attend, and refreshments will be served.
